An oak cased dome top mantel clock, the single fusee movement by Elliott Ltd, numbered to back plate 19001-1941, the circular silvered dial with Roman numerals inscribed with RAF logo of crown and wreath, 40.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Feels very tight/over wound. Pendulum present, key not. When pendulum is knocked, it does move freely and the minute hand moves in time - this doesn't last long however. The back door of the clock appears to be a replacement, much cheaper wood. The glass is mucky in need of a clean as is the brasswork. The wood veneer around the push button area is risen slightly to the underneath and the glass cover has dropped and is cutting into the wood. The glass cover hinge has clearly had some work, the bottom screw, although tight, the hinge is loose around it and as per the top screw. The face itself has some marks to it including some scratches, particularly around the winding hole. Otherwise general wear and tear to include some chips to the veneer, scuff marks etc. In need of a clean and some TLC - see images for more details.

GEBRUDER EPPNER OF BERLIN; a late 19th century brass cased four glass mantel clock, the dial stamped 'Gebr Eppner K. Hofuhrmacher Berlin', the white enamel dial set with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds, 35 x 21 x 16cm, with winding key and pendulum. Provenance: This lot is accompanied by an insurance valuation dated 10.08.15 from Fewster & Walker Ltd of York for the value of £1,800, and also accompanied by various invoices and receipts from repairs and work carried out to the clock over the years. Condition Report: This clock is in good going order at point of testing, however I'm afraid that this is not a guarantee.
French gilt metal mantel clock, La Loi, modelled with an angel of victory, the base with alabaster panels and emblems, white enamel dial signed Hy Marc Paris, cylinder movement striking on a bell, height 57cm.Condition report:There is no pendulum and no key, movement does not look like it has been run for a long time, looks like the figure is missing something from her left hand, pin holes evidint for something missing from near the wreath under the quiver, otherwise the case and panels look to be intact. The metal is spelter.

Henry Marc, Paris an ebonised mantel clock the eight-day duration movement striking the hours and half-hours on a bell, with the backplate stamped for the retailer Henry Mark, Paris, and numbered 55170, along with the trademark for the maker of the roulant blanc Samuel Marti, the round white enamel dial having black Roman numerals, blued-steel moon hands, a Slow/Fast regulation at XII o'clock and signed Hy Marc, Paris, the round ebonised case standing on a walnut and ebonised plinth with scroll mounts to the sides, height 26.5cm.
Vincenti et Cie, a mid-Victorian French Boulle mantel clock, the eight-day duration movement striking the hours and half-hours on a gong with the backplate stamped with the trademark of the maker Vincenti et Cie, the round brass dial having blue Roman numerals to individual enamel plaques and blued-steel fleur-de-lys hands, the shaped red tortoiseshell and brass inlaid Boulle case having a glazed front through which is visible the sunburst pendulum and with applied gilt-brass mounts, height 31cm. Notes: Vincenti started his workshops before 1823 in Montbeliard, France making the blancs roulants (rough movements) for clockmakers to finish and use, but went bankrupt a year later, whereupon the clock manufacturer Roux took on the management. Although Vincenti died in 1834, the business continued, winning a number of awards including the Medaille d'Argent (silver medal) in 1855.
Winterhalder & Hofmeier, Germany, an oak quarter-striking mantel clock, the eight-day duration movement having an anchor escapement and with ting-tang strike at each quarter, the backplate stamped W&H, Sch. for Winterhalder & Hofmeier of Schwarzenbach, Black Forest, the brass dial having a raised silvered chapter ring engraved with black Roman numerals, with subsidiary dials to the top for Regulation and Silent/Chime, with a matted centre, applied gilt-metal mounts and blued-steel hands, the flat-top oak case with decorative brass feet and surmounted by a brass carrying handle, height 39cm/35cm, handle up/down. Notes: Anton Winterhalder founded the business in Schwarzenbach in the Black Forest in 1810 taking Anton Hofmeier into partnership in 1850, with the company finally closing upon the death of Linus, last son of Winterhalder, in 1930. The movements and clocks made by this firm are often believed to be the among the best produced in Germany at this time.

Mougin, withthe round enamel dial having black Roman numerals to and blued-steel fleur-de-lys hands, the shaped red tortoiseshell case having applied gilt-brass mounts, height 32cm. Notes: AD. Mougin is recorded as working in the mid-to-late 1800's at Rue de Turenne, 75, Paris, the heart of the Parisian clockmaking industry at this period.
