Science Fiction magazines. A large collection of approx. 600 orig. issues, c.1920s?1960s (but mostly 40s?50s), incl. Amazing Stories (7 issues from the 20s and 55 issues from the late 40s), Fantastic Adventures (35 issues), Startling Stories (29 issues), Thrilling Wonder Stories (24 issues), Planet Stories (23 issues), plus Other Worlds, Imagination, Avon Fantasy Reader, Galaxy, Fantasy and Science Fiction, Famous Fantastic Mysteries, Astounding etc., all orig. printed wrappers, many with distinctive cover designs, some issues worn, particularly at spines, together with a small qty. of related ephemera etc. Of particular interest are seven early issues of Amazing Stories (May?November 1928), there is some wear to the covers of these early issues with some minor loss or strengthening to edges etc. The August issue features the very first appearance of Buck Rogers (in Philip Francis Nowlan's story 'Armageddon?2419') and a presentation inscription by E.E. "Doc" Smith to his story 'The Skylark of Space': "To my esteemed fellow toiler in the vineyards (see p.465) Landell Bartlett, with felicitation, Edward E. Smith PhD, "Doc" to you!". Page 465 of the magazine contains a full?page advertisement for Landell Bartlett's 1928 novel 'The Vanguards of Venus'. (?)
