An early 19th century letter addressed to Vice Admiral John Wilson Croker from sir Thomas Masterman Hardy (1769-1839), explaining that he was sending by coach 'the model of a lantern, which I have copied from yours with very trifling alterations', recommending the use of plate glass, and adding that the weight was 5 lbs and 1/2 an ounce, signed and dated 6th June 1827, together with another letter signed by Hardy dated 1834, together with a non associated indenture.
