An antique and magnificent French Mantle clock, 19th century, period of Napoleon III, made of bronze (remains of gilding) and hand-painted porcelain panels in the 'Sevres' style with figures of allegorical angels to music, (The painter who decorated the porcelain signed - see close-up photo), the mechanism is made by Japy Freres, some of the porcelain plates must be reinforced in place, there is a pendulum and keys, but the working condition of the clock has not been checked, one of the rear legs has been replaced and is not original and one hand is missing, Side width from front to back: 16 cm, Base width: 26 cm, Height: 58 cm. A 19th Century French gilt brass cased mantel clock in the Rococo taste with putti decoration amongst shells and flowers and scrolling foliage, the eight day movement by Japy Freres of Paris with circular enamel dial, Roman and Arabic numerals 31 cm high CONDITION REPORTS The glass to the front has been replaced with plastic. The dial has several cracks to it and several areas of discolouration. The clock case itself - appears to have some small areas of re-gilding and is very dirty and in need of a good clean. Key and pendulum present. Unknown if working. General wear and tear conducive with age and use. See images for further detail.

Some wear to giltwood stands, some worm holes present to stands, velvet faded and worn, minor wear to ormolu overall, clock is sold as viewed and not in working order.
