Denney, original boards in dust jacket, 8vo, contained in original slipcase Limited edition 143/500. Eva Miriam Hart (1905 - 1996) was a survivor from RMS Titanic which sank on 15 April, 1912. Born in Ilford, the daughter of Benjamin Hart and Esther Bloomfield. At the age of seven she and here parents boarded the Titanic as second-class passengers. Originally intending to travel on the Philadelphia, all the ship's passengers were transferred to the Titanic as a result of a coal stike. Eva was asleep when the Titanic struck the iceberg, and her father woke her and her mother. He placed them in Lifeboat No. 14 and as it was ready to drop her father said, "stay with your mummy and hold her hand tightly like a good girl". After that point Eva never saw her father again. (1)
