Framed maritime print after an original painting by O.W. Dahlstrom in the B&W Museum, Copenhagen, depicting the Danish training ship Georg Stage. Built by Burmeister & Wain in 1882 as a three-masted bark with a 125 HP auxiliary steam engine, the vessel was named after the owner's late son. After more than 50 years in service, the ship was saved from dismantling and acquired by author Alan Villiers, who renamed it Joseph Conrad. The ship famously circumnavigated the globe and served as a U.S. Navy training vessel during World War II. It now resides at Mystic Seaport, Connecticut. A vast collection of 19th century Grand Tour plaster casts of intaglio portraits comprising various types and designs and including religious scenes of Christ and others. These include: 'The Last Supper', portraits of classical men and women, portraits of people ranging from philosophers to potential royalty from across the globe, a small circular example possibly depicting 'The Warwick Vase' dating to George IV's reign and others. Varying sizes, a lot around 3.5cm diameter, some of the largest around 15cm wide (varies), all within a custom-made wooden case in six separate trays. Condition: some with damage and loss, few chipped; nibbles to fronts and backs; some staining, wear commensurate with age. Provenance: From a single owner private collection in Buckinghamshire.

A WALNUT TERRESTRIAL GLOBE MANTEL TIME PIECE, UNSIGNED GERMAN, CIRCA 1905 43cm high, 21.5cm wide, 19cm deepThe circular movement with skeletonised plates and lever escapement regulated by sprung monometallic balance and with worm take-off from the rear of the centre wheel to drive the rotating globe surmount, the 3.5 inch circular silvered Arabic numeral dial with five minutes to outer track within moulded bezel, the case of outward swept plinth form with cavetto top moulding and surmounted with 7 inch diameter rotating globe applied with 12 coloured printed gores with countries, major cities, important topographical features, oceans, shipping lanes, islands, tropics and other features annotated in French and pivoted between the poles within a patinated brass meridian arc, the equator with a brass band annotated with Arabic twenty-four hour numerals supported by two perpendicular circles and the bottom pivot applied with a wheel driven by another connected to the movement housed in the case beneath, the rear of the timepiece with brass cover stamped GES. GESCHUTZ, REGISTERED, DEPOSE, on moulded skirt base incorporating shaped apron to front. Clocks incorporating globes to allow 'world time' to be displayed became popular during the latter part of the 19th century most likely in response to telegraph technology bringing real-time global communication within reach. Such timepieces are able to provide the relative time at any given global location by reading the twenty-four-hour ring against the longitude for the location once the globe has been orientated such that the hour ring provides correct local time. Actor Anthony Quayle signed 1985 Bradford Football Disaster FDC. Sir John Anthony Quayle (7 September 1913 - 20 October 1989) was a British actor, theatre director and novelist. He was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe for his supporting role as Thomas Wolsey in the film Anne of the Thousand Days (1969). He also played important roles in such major studio productions as The Guns of Navarone (1961), Lawrence of Arabia (1962), The Fall of the Roman Empire (1964), Operation Crossbow (1965), QB VII (1974) and The Eagle Has Landed (1976).
