A large Cantagalli vase, late 19th century, decorated with a bacchanalian scene flanked by two griffin handles upon a socle base decorated with a cherub inscribing on a panel, the reverse a classical scene of lovers figures before a ship in sail. Height 59 cm, width 58 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The vase is structurally sound and in reasonably good condition. There are the usual and typical areas of crazing to the glaze. The top rim is rubbed and discoloured and may have had some overpainting. There do not appear to be any significant chips or losses however. Both handles are in good condition. The main body of the vase seems free of any significant damage. The vase is firmly fixed to the base. It is likely to have been loose at some point and fixed with some form of plaster. The plaster repair is visible when viewed from inside. The repair is effective with no movement. The base itself is in good order with no significant problems. Overall the vase is in generally good order.

A pair of continental turquoise glazed cherub figures with gilt detailing, one modelled holding a dove, the other holding bunches of grapes, each upon oval base, 24cm high, together with a Cantagalli pottery water font modelled as a cherub, painted mark to reverse, 34cm high (3) Condition Report: Both cherubs in nice condition. No chips, cracks or restoration. Slight rubbing to gilt. Font has glaze chips to toes, nose, hair etc. No chips or cracks.
