Antoni Clavz, b. 1913, untitled (girl), signed and dated 45, gouache and pen and ink on paper, 10.5x12cm.; 4x4Nin. "In 1944 the use of more concrete forms appears in (Clavz's) work. The shadowy tones of the previous period are strengthened by definied outlines. Clavz's painting passes from a stage in which the colours are dull and compact to the stronger use of chiaroscuro and vigourous strokes. The humanism of Soutine is clearly seen in his bistres and turquoises and the mystic pathos of Rouault and the influence of Picasso's composition can be found in his pictures." Salvador Dal', 1904-1989 CABINET ANTHROPOMORPHIQUE inscribed Dali and numbered 45/330 bronze length: 64cm.; 23Kin. Conceived in plaster in 1973 and cast in bronze in three sizes: 23cm., 64cm. and 186cm. According to Robert Descharnes, the present cast was executed at the Fonderia Mibrosa in Barcelona.

A WORKSPLATE "La Maquinista Terrestre Y Maritima No.232 Barcelona 1926". As carried by a Spanish State Railways (RENFE) 5'6" gauge 4-8-4T No.242-0268. It was originally built for the Madrid-Zaragosa-Alicante Railway as No.1638. It was used for heavy suburban traffic and short distance expresses. Based on a 4-8-0 design, the Class was phased out in the 1960's. Oval cast brass, 121/4"x8", polished and repainted. This plate was purchased from the RENFE stores at Principe Pio in June 1969.
