20th century French music box automaton of a young lady. Motion includes moving her head and lifting her arms. Clothing is original, music box plays two tunes, her face and hands are bisque and her eyes are glass. Clothing is clean and without damage, the music box plays well, but a little subdued in tone. A Singing Bird Automaton, 20th century, the yellow-plumed bird perched within a domed wirework cage over a curcular plinth embosed with a band of flowers29cm highMechanism appears to be working, key turns smoothly and bird moves and sings. Top of cage is missing a hoop, bird slightly dishevelled and two sections of decorative foliage have come loose from perch. Cage has general minor wear, marks, scratches etc. Remains of a label to base but is unreadable.

An antique musical automaton in the form of a seated monkey harp player, being a variation on number 17 in the Rouillet et Decamps catalogue. The head moves from side to side and up and down, while the eyes and lips also move. 50cm high, 42cm wide, 23 cm deep. Condition Report: Overall good condition, in working order. Mild to moderate wear to the harp, minor tears to the outfit cloth and chair all consistent with age.

The themes of music, revelry and abundance are continued in the porcelain panels of the lower section, which depict two urns and a putto piper. The automaton is independent of the clock movement. The bird turns from side to side and flutters its wings and tail (beak movement inactive) as it sings. 19th century French tableau mecanique automaton, Chinese figure lying on his back kicking colourful balls into the air. He has a bisque head with painted features and a topknot, wearing a pale blue and white satin costume heightened with foil. He has metal hands and a papier-mache body articulated at the elbows and knees. The figure is surrounded by velvet draped theatrical stage heightened with foil and off stage mirrors. The back of the case opens to reveal a movement with a gear train driving pulleys, presented in a gilt wood frame and case, complete with key engraved nr 16 and a simple stop and start button to the side of the case. When wound this does work, the head turns, the arms move from the elbow, the knees move and kick the balls into into whilst a melody plays.
