Punjab 1848-49, 2 clasps, Chilianwala, Goojerat (Capt: F. C. Marsden. 29th. Beng. N.I.) slight contact marks, very fine £600-£800 --- C.B. London Gazette ,18 May 1860. Frederick Carleton Marsden, the eldest son of Captain James Marsden, 7th Dragoons, was born on 15 December 1803. An Officer Cadet in 1824, he was commissioned as an Ensign into the 29th Native Infantry in March 1825, and later advanced Captain in December 1844 before his Appointment as Deputy Commissioner of the Punjab in April 1849, Multan Division in 1851, Jhelum Division in 1855. Further advanced Major in March 1855, he retired with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in June 1857 before his appointment as Deputy Commissioner of Ferozepore, for which he was appointed C.B. in 1860. Additionally entitled to an Indian Mutiny Medal, no clasp, he died in 1889. Sold with copied London Gazette entry and copied research, and a British Library Imaging Services CD-ROM containing personal diary details of his time spent in the Punjab.

Within the UK
If you live within the UK, items will be despatched using Royal Mail Special Delivery. This service provides parcel tracking (via the Royal Mail website) and next weekday delivery (betwen 9am and 1pm). Items delivered within the UK are covered by our insurance company. Heavy and bulky lots will be sent by courier, in discussion with the client.

Outside of the UK
If the item/s being sent are worth under £1000 in total they are sent using Royal Mail’s Signed For International service. This ensures the item must be signed for when it is delivered.
If the item/s being sent are valued at over £1000 in total they will be sent using FedEx. This service allows next day delivery to customers in many parts of the US and parcels are fully trackable using the FedEx website.

Shipping Exceptions
