A Boer War D.S.O. group of five awarded to Lieutenant Colonel G. J. Scott, Paget’s Horse, late 7th (The Princess Royal’s) Dragoon Guards Distinguished Service Order, V.R., silver-gilt and enamel, green enamel damage, with integral top riband bar; Coronation 1911, unnamed as issued; Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, dated reverse, 1 clasp, Tel-El-Kebir (Lieut. G. J. Scott. 2/Dn. G...); Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 2 clasps, Cape Colony, Transvaal (Capt. C. [sic] J. Scott. D/Sq. Pagets H.); Khedive’s Star, dated 1882, unnamed as issued, mounted for wear, but most medals now detached from riband bar, with five related miniature awards, these mounted as worn and housed in small leather case, contact marks, generally nearly very fine (lot) £2,000-£2,400 --- D.S.O. London Gazette 27 September 1901: ‘In recognition of services during the operations in South Africa.’ M.I.D. London Gazette 10 September 1901. George John Scott was born in May 1858, and was educated at Marlborough. He joined the Shropshire Militia in 1875, and was commissioned into the 2nd Dragoon Guards in 1879. Scott served with the 7th Dragoon Guards in Egypt in 1882, and exchanged into the 18th Hussars in 1885. Scott retired in 1889, only to re-engage for service as a Captain with the 19th Battalion, Imperial Yeomanry during the Second Boer War. He served with Paget’s Horse in South Africa, and was present at operations in the Transvaal and Cape Colony, March to November 1900 (D.S.O. and M.I.D.) Scott was invested with his D.S.O. by the King 29 October 1901. He served in the City of London Yeomanry, 1901-1913, and in the 3rd Middlesex Yeomanry, 1915-16, advancing to Lieutenant Colonel.

Within the UK
If you live within the UK, items will be despatched using Royal Mail Special Delivery. This service provides parcel tracking (via the Royal Mail website) and next weekday delivery (betwen 9am and 1pm). Items delivered within the UK are covered by our insurance company. Heavy and bulky lots will be sent by courier, in discussion with the client.

Outside of the UK
If the item/s being sent are worth under £1000 in total they are sent using Royal Mail’s Signed For International service. This ensures the item must be signed for when it is delivered.
If the item/s being sent are valued at over £1000 in total they will be sent using FedEx. This service allows next day delivery to customers in many parts of the US and parcels are fully trackable using the FedEx website.

Shipping Exceptions
