A George III oak longcase clock, circa 1770, the ogive cornice above a square glazed door, flanked by turned pilasters and enclosing a 12" square brass dial with silvered chapter ring and Roman numerals, date aperture below a circular aperture engraved James Monkhouse, Carlisle, foliate cast pierced spandrels, 30 hour movement striking on a bell, a shaped top full length trunk door flanked by fluted quarter pilasters over an ogive moulding and plain base board with canted angles and raised on shaped bracket feet, 83" high
