A George III mahogany satinwood and inlaid secretaire cabinet, circa 1795, the broken scroll pediment inlaid with harewood and with a leaf border above a faux fluted ogive cornice and two foliate carved and ribbed glazed doors enclosing three shelves with shelf stops, over two satinwood panel and harewood inlaid cupboard doors enclosing a central short door and amaranth crossbanded cupboard door revealing another short drawer flanked by four pigeon holes and four short drawers, flanked by boxwood and harewood inlaid scroll brackets terminating in flowerhead, over a rectangular top with concave corners and pull-out secretaire drawer enclosing a baize lined hinged writing surface flanked by sliding ink and pen trays above a false drawer front with stamped gilt brass oval swing handles and raised on six square tapering collared legs, 31" wide, 20" deep, 75" high
