A George III mahogany and boxwood strung and inlaid balloon shape mantel clock, circa 1800-1810, the case surmounted by a gilt brass urn finial, the convex glass door with brass bezel enclosing a 7" white painted enamel dial with roman numerals and inscribed Barraud, Cornhill, London, above a boxwood inlaid shell motif, the movement door pierced with foliate fretwork, damaged, enclosing an eight day double fusee movement striking on a bell, the back plate with engraved border and N S pointer, the movement secured by two gilt brass brackets, screw compensated steel pendulum with compressed gilt brass engraved disc, the clock raised on four brass ball feet and conforming plinth with reeded quarter columns and door to left hand side, also on four brass ball feet, the clock 19" high, 28" overall height
