A George III mahogany longcase clock, late 18th century, the blind fret carved and arched hood with broken scroll swan neck pediment and floral terminals above an arched cushion moulded glazed door flanked by simulated bamboo pilasters enclosing a white painted 14" enamel dial with roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dial and marked F Wood, Bollington, the corners painted with rustic housing, rolling moon phase in the arch, eight day movement striking on a bell, above a Greek key moulding and blind fret carved frieze and triple ogee arch top trunk door flanked by fluted quarter pilasters on blind fret carved half columns over an ogive moulding and raised base board between reeded angles, lacking feet, the case possibly Gillows, 94" high
