A George III oak and mahogany crossbanded and inlaid longcase clock, late 18th century, the broken scroll swan neck pediment centred by a gilt brass eagle and ball finial and with stamped brass terminals, above an arched glazed door with tapering square side columns enclosing a 12" white painted enamel dial with roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture and marked W Edwards, Bishop's Castle, florally painted corners and rolling moon phase in the arch, eight day movement striking on a bell above an ogive moulding and ogee arched top, trunk door centred by a boxwood and harewood conch shell motif over a further moulding and crossbanded base board, distressed, 85" high
