A George III mahogany and boxwood inlaid and crossbanded longcase clock, late 18th century, the broken scroll swan neck pediment applied with stamped brass urn terminals, over foliate gilt painted glass panels, above an arched glazed door flanked by fluted gilt brass capped pilasters, enclosing a white painted 13" enamel dial with roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture and marked R. Webster, Salop, gilded foliate corners and rolling moon phase with galleon and pastoral scene in the arch, 8 day movement striking on a bell above a fluted frieze centred by a boxwood oval patera over a shaped top crossbanded trunk door flanked by fluted quarter columns above an ogive moulding and crossbanded base board between canted angles, lacking feet, distressed, 86" high
