An oak and mahogany crossbanded and ebony strung longcase clock, second quarter 19th century, the broken scroll swan neck pediment above a chevron strung frieze over an arched glazed door flanked by turned split balusters enclosing a 14" white painted enamel dial with roman numerals, subsidiary seconds hand and date dial marked T Cox Tipton, moon phase in the arch, and painted with ladies representing the seasons, 8 day movement striking on a bell above a boxwood inlaid frieze and triple pointed arch top, three quarter length trunk door lozenge inlaid, flanked by split balusters over a short panel and ogive moulding and further inlaid base board raised on a plinth 96" high
