A chest, Renaissance, cedar (or juniper), front with grooved decoration filled with black mass (gall nut) "Hounds, imaginary animals and plant motifs between classicist arches", top of the punctured boards, interior with a covered pidgeonhole, Portuguese - Azores, 16th/17th C., missing socle, restoration, minor faults and defects, missing original lock replaced by a later lock, missing original hinges replaced by later hinges, traces of woodworms. Notes: vd. similar copy in "Do Mar e da Terra... Uma História no Atlântico". Angra do Heroísmo: Angra do Heroísmo Museum, 2011, p. 54; e "Mobiliário Português - Roteiro - Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga". Lisbon: Portuguese Institute of Museums, 2000, p. 44.
