Folding engraved map. 19th-century pebbled cloth, rebacked retaining original spine and lettering piece laid down. Rubbed, corners bumped, map reinforced at hinge with japan paper, light spotting and foxing. FIRST EDITION, containing Thomas Conder's map of 'The Middle States of America,' the complete text of the Constitution, and the proposed first 12 amendments to the Constitution. A pirated edition was published the same year in Dublin. Howes C760; Sabin 16615. Lot to be sold without reserve.
