A ENGRAVED BRASS PENDANT MIRROR, MELONG Tibet, 15th century The reverse of the mirror engraved to the centre with a wheel of dharma, encircled by bands of leafy and cloud scrollwork, the other side plain, attached with a suspension loop via a ruyi-shaped rivet, display stand. 15cm (5 7/8in) diam. Ritually, mirrors represent the void of the world and reflect the truth. They can be classified according to function into three types: a ritual implement on a altar table, a hand-held mobile mirror for rituals, and an oracle mirror worn by a lama on the breast. See M. Buyers' Premium and Charges


For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:

Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
