A 22-Bore Flintlock D.B. Sporting Gun By Wood, York, Early 19th Century, Birmingham Silver Hallmarks For 1802, Maker's Mark Of Charles Freeth With rebrowned twist sighted barrels signed in capitals along the rib, breeches each with two gold lines and gold-lined touch-hole (one relined in brass), border engraved tang engraved with a dead pheasant suspended from foliage, and with a starburst in the sighting groove, border engraved flat locks (one cock expertly replaced) each with maker's gold-lined oval, rainproof pan and roller, figured half-stock with cheek-piece and chequered grip, border engraved steel mounts comprising butt-plate decorated with a gundog and game bird on the heel tang, trigger-guard with a game bird amid foliage on the border engraved bow, and a starburst on the scrolled tang, trigger-plate with pineapple finial, vacant silver escutcheon, barrel-bolt escutcheons and hallmarked rear ramrod-pipe, and horn-tipped ramrod with iron worm, London proof marks 80.8 cm. barrels Footnotes: Joseph Wood is recorded at 28 Spurrier Gate, York, Yorkshire between 1815 and 1820 For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing

Buyers' Premium and Charges
For all Sales categories, buyer's premium excluding Cars, Motorbikes, Wine, Whisky and Coin & Medal sales, will be as follows:
Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
A 3rd party bidding platform fee of 4% of the Hammer Price for Buyers using the following bidding platforms will be added to the invoices of successful Buyers for auctions starting on or after 6th July 2024 – Invaluable; Live Auctioneers; The Saleroom; Lot-tissimo.
