Thomas By Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London, No. 59729 For 1923 With tapering fullered blade with etched foliate decoration including crowned royal arms between regimental badges of the Royal Engineers along one side, and along the other with maker's details and the presentation inscription 'PRESENTED TO GENTLEMAN CADET LIONEL G. THOMAS ON OBTAINING HIS COMMISSION FROM THE ROYAL MILITARY ACADEMY FOR EXEMPLARY CONDUCT WHILST AT THAT INSTITUTION', steel hilt pierced with crowned 'GRV' cypher and foliage, chequered back-piece, and fishskin-covered grip bound with copper wire, in original plated steel scabbard with two rings for suspension 82.5 cm. blade Footnotes: Captain Lionel George Thomas (1903-1936) was Gentleman Cadet at the Royal Military Academy between 1921 1923, and was commissioned into the Royal Engineers later that year. Buyers' Premium and Charges

Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
