A J.P. MORGAN SIGNED NEW JERSEY JUNCTION RAILROAD CO. BOND CERTIFICATE. MORGAN, J. PIERPONT. 1837-1913. Document Signed ('J. Pierpont Morgan') on verso, a first mortgage bond for the New Jersey Junction Rail Road Co in the amount of $1000, also signed by Harris C. Fahnestock, 1 p, oblong 4to (235 x 335 mm), New York, June 30, 186, with second sheet of coupons, framed together. Provenance: Private Collection, Beverly Hills, California. The NJJRC was part of the New York Central Railroad and ran along the Hudson River south to Jersey City. It was incorporated in February of 1886 and on July 1 (the day after this certificate was issued), the railroad was leased for 100 years to the New York Central and Hudson River Railroad. Morgan and Fahnestock sign this 100-year bond as trustees of the NJJRC. Lot to be sold without reserve.
