Footnotes: Provenance: Collection of Col. Dean S. Hartley, Jr., USMC (1920-2010), by descent to the present owner. Col. Hartley was a scholar who published several articles on Asian art and, with his wife, Roth Hartley, collected Asian works of art from the mid-1950s until 2001.
