An Italian 19th century walnut, ebonised, fruitwood and bone 'alla certosina' inlaid cabinet on stand With various geometric, floral and foliate shapes including stars, lozenges, flowerheads and guilloche patterns comprised of assorted tesserae inlay and stringing, the cavetto frieze above a central arched panelled door inlaid with a box of flowers and flanked by Tuscan columns, encompassed by ten short drawers, the stand with one long frieze drawer, on four columnar and block square tapering legs, terminating in peg feet, with a rising double scrolled X-form stretcher surmounted by a block and urn finial, with panelled sides, 96cm wide x 51cm deep x 151cm high, (37 1/2in wide x 20in deep x 59in high) Footnotes: Provenance The offered lot was formerly at Portmore House, Peebles, in Scotland.
