Jodi Balfour (as Jackie Kennedy): A floor-length silk evening gown Season 2, Episode 8, 'Dear Mrs. Kennedy' Custom-made full length evening gown with a black square-neck and lemon-yellow silk skirt; together with a matching silk sash and large yellow bow belt to the front, with a netted petticoat, and black pointed stiletto court shoes (5) Footnotes: As worn in the scene at the White House, Washington set. This dress is inspired by one worn by Jackie Kennedy in 1961 for a gala reception for the President of Peru held at the White House. It was designed by Oleg Cassini (1913-2006). Cassini and Ms Kennedy met in 1953, and when John F Kennedy became President and Jackie Kennedy the First Lady, she appointed the designer as her personal couturier. Regarding the black and gold dress, Cassini wrote in One Thousand Days of Magic '...one of my favorite color (sic) combinations - jet black contrasted with vivid Tintoretto mustard-gold.' In total, he made over 300 looks for her and worked as a designer for around 70 years.
