The matter of their eldest son's education is brought up and an argument follows. Prince Philip attended Gordonstoun school in Elgin, Scotland from 1934 to 1939. Despite initially struggling at the school, he thrived there, enjoying an amazing outdoor education, which resulted in his lifelong passion for sailing. It was reported that Prince Philip pushed for his son, Prince Charles, to attend the school, even though the Queen and Lord Mountbatten preferred Eton. In the end, Prince Charles did attend Gordonstoun in the 1960s but he was badly bullied and numerous reports state that he was very unhappy there.
