The critic, writer and photojournalist Daniel Farson worked for Harpers Bazaar and Picture Post. He was notable for his work chronicling Soho in the 1950s, and took considerable professional pride in tracking down and snapping the 'angry young men' of the decade. As well as Osborne these included writers such as Colin Wilson who rose to notoriety with his novel The Outsider, John Wain, author of Hurry on Down, and shortly thereafter John Brain who penned Room at the Top (see Whitebrook, pp. 112-13).
