An Austrian Cold Painted Bronze Cat Orchestra, 20th century, comprising a conductor, a pianist and piano, an accordion player, a saxophonist, a trumpet player, a xylophone player and xylophone, a guitarist, a lutenist, a banjo player, and a dancing couple, each approx 5.5cm high. Maße: H. ohne Sockel 58, mit Sockel 60cm. Zustand B/C. Mit kleinen Figuren von Schutzgeistern beschnitzte Stäbe wie dieses Exemplar wurden von jungen Männern in der stolz erhobenen rechten Hand gehalten, wenn sie auf Märkten und Festen im Kreise zur Musik der Xylophone und Trommeln tanzten. Sie hatten für ihren Besitzer einen großen Prestigewert. Ausserhalb des Dorfes wurden sie zum Schutz mitgeführt, den die "dagol" genannten geschnitzten Figuren als persönliche Schutzgeister sicherstellten. Tribal Art DANCING WAND. Origin: Lobi.
