Van Briggle Art Pottery, Colorado, USA. Group of two studio pottery ceramic vases. One light blue "Lorelei" figural vase incised along the bottom with "D.R." for Dorothy Ruff, a finisher known to have completed pieces in the late 1980s through 2003. Dated 1984 along the underside and marked with the Van Briggle mark. The red vase with floral motifs incised along the bottom with the Van Briggle mark as well as "Van Briggle Colo. Spgs." Red vase; Height: 9 1/2 in x diameter: 4 in. Blue vase; Height: 11 in x diameter: 4 1/2 in.
A 1940-1960S VAN BRIGGLE VASE 'PERSIAN ROSE', COLORADO SPRINGSof cylindrical form, with a curved relief design, with a ombre ground of dark turquoise to a deep mulberry, incised with pottery logo, signed and inscribed Colorado Springs underbase; height: 18 cm (7 1/8 in.) CONDITION The vase appears in age-appropriate condition. Light surface nicks, scuffs and scratches visible, most notably along the rim and foot rim. A chip to the base, only visible when picked up. Inspection under UV shows no apparent sign of restoration. N.B. All lots are sold in as-is condition at the time of sale.
