Dial appears to be in an average condition with some light marks and scratches when viewed under a 4x loupe. Hands appear to be in a generally good condition.Glass has some scratches and marks when viewed under a 4x loupe. Case shows light scratches and marks. Six early 20th century umbrellas and parasols including horn-handled umbrella carved in the form of a greyhound and umbrella with 12ct rolled gold ferrule (7) Condition Report Black umbrella with wooden handle approximately 92cm longOpens and closes but is rather fragile. Marks and wear in places commensurate with age and previous use.
A GREEN HARDSTONE AND FACETED ROCK CRYSTAL MOUNTED UMBRELLA AND THREE OTHERS (4)Retailed by J C Vickery, circa 1900, the final with faceted bands, and 9ct gold band with bamboo shaft, 94.5cm high; Together with a French silver gilt calamander caned cream silk parasol retailed by Dupuy, Paris, 95cm high; a green banded agate finial with marcasite set flower heads and gilt-silver foliage, silk parasol shade, 96cm high; and another green hard stone and gilt metal mounted cream silk parasol, 96.5cm highCondition report: The cream umbrella material to one of the umbrella’s is in very poor condition - in tatters, and another also poor, the third is protected by a cover but also very fragile. The handles are invariably tarnishing and with dirt to the recesses and extremities. Various marcasite flower heads are missing. The other green stone mounted handle with tarnishing to the metal mounts, the stone could be green dyed chalcedony. The example by Dupuy with some wear and tarnishing to the lacquer on a banded area. The green hard stone with faceted rock crystal bands with a chip to one of the facets along the top band, see images. All with scuffs and scratches to the shafts and ferrule ends. See extra images.
