William Payne, Hadleigh an oak longcase, having an eight-day duration movement striking the hours on a bel with the twelve-inch painted break-arch dial having black Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds and date dials, blued-steel decorative hands and signed to the arch Wm. Payne, Hadleigh, the oak case having an arched trunk door, brass capitals to the fluted hood pillars, a break-arch top and standing on shaped bracket feet, height 207cm. Notes: William Payne was born in Hadleigh, Suffolk in July 1749 ad was a member of the well-known clockmaking Payne family. He was apprenticed to Nathaniel Hedge of Colchester for seven years from 20th July 1763 for a fee of £12. In July 1770 he was admitted a Free Burgess of Colchester and returned to Hadleigh where he opened a shop. From circa 1814 he was no longer working having become an invalid with his wife Ann and son John running the business.Reference: Arthur L. Hutchinson, Retford, an oak longcase clock, having a thirty-hour duration movement striking the hours on a bell, with the painted twelve-inch break-arch dial having black Roman numerals, a date aperture, decorative blued-steel hands with painted decoration to the four corners and a bird depicted within the arch, signed to the centre Hutchinson, Retford, the oak case with mahogany cross-banding, fluted quarter columns to the trunk, fluted columns to the hood with swan-neck pediment surmounted by brass finials, height 218cm including finial. Notes: William Hutchinson is recorded as working in Retford, Nottinghamshire from circa 1776 until after 1798.Reference: Harold H. A mahogany eight-day moonphase longcase clock, having an eight-day duration movement striking the hours on a bell, the twelve-inch painted break-arch dial having black Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds and date dials, gilt-brass hands, painted corner spandrels and with a moonphase disc within the arch, the mahogany case having an arched trunk door, brass capitals to the hood pillars, a crested top and cross-banding to the base, standing on shaped bracket feet, with a pair of brass-bound weights, height 205cm.

A WWII Welsh Guard’s uniform, comprising a dress jacket, two dress blouses, one with label stating 1940 Pattern Size No.6, breast 38” to 39”, waist 33” to 34”, a pair of breeches, a pair of trousers and a tie, together with a pair of ice skates, and a number of clothes hangers, all contained within a mid 20th century trunk. Condition - poor to fair.
TWO PIECES OF ROYAL DUX PORCELAIN, comprising a figure of a boy with a calf, pink triangle mark to base and impressed no 1394, height 26cm x width 29cm x depth 12cm, and an elephant figure with raised trunk, pink triangle mark, printed backstamp and impressed numbers underneath (2) (Condition Report: boy with calf appears in good condition, elephant has a chipped tusk, but otherwise appears ok)
Richd. Blakeborough, Ottley, a walnut longcase clock the eight-day duration movement striking the hours on a bell and having a fourteen-inch break-arch painted dial with black Roman numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial, date aperture, rural church scenes to the four corners, a seascape with castle painted within the arch and signed for the maker Richd. Blakeborough, Ottley and numbered 2215, the iron falseplate to the rear cast with the dialmaker's name Finnemore, Birmingham, the walnut case having quartered-columns to the trunk, shaped top to the short door, shaped panel to the base with the hood having a swan-neck pediment and full turned pillars, all standing on bracket feet, height 248cm. Note: Richard Blakeborough is recorded as working in Market Place, Otley, Yorkshire from before 1822 until at least 1837. He may be the same maker recorded at Pateley Bridge. 1923 Morris Cowley 'Bull Nose' Open Tourer, 1465cc, reg. no. KK 4643, chassis no. D21787. Finished in beige with a buttoned leather interior. This charming vintage Morris was originally registered in Kent, before moving to Great Yarmouth in the late 1970's. It was around this time that the car was restored, prior to its acquisition by its current owner in around 1992. He owned the car personally until 2020, when ownership changed to his company. The car has a delightful array of period accessories, including fuel can, radiator cap thermometer, Auster screen, pipe rack, flower vase and car trunk. It is complete with a folding hood with cover, a full length tonneau cover and its removable side screens.
