A VERY LARGE CHINESE CANTON ENAMELLED BOWL, raised on curving tripod legs with shaped beast head handles, painted with central panel of a royal figure and attendants, with further panels of various scenes and decorated with flora and fauna, the base with character mark, (faults), bowl 38cm diameter.
Ca. 3000 - 1900 BC. A Chinese Longshan culture pottery Gui. The tripod legs are in large sack forms, each individually moulded, with the mouth tall and upright. This is a fine example of signature Longshan pottery. For similar see: The Palace Museum, æ–°00110564. Size: 310mm x 180mm; Weight: 1.18kg Provenance: Private German collection. Ca. 18th century AD. A bronze elephant tripod censer and cover. The body is casted in the form of an inverted bell supported by three elephant-head feet, each with tusks and harnesses, with lotus scrolls decorating the body. The cover is cast metalwork, also with lotus scrolls around the cast and a recumbent elephant resting, topped with a pointing European man. A large Victorian 'country-house' size copper kettle on burner stand - by Henry Loveridge & Co (stamped maker's monogram to burner reservoir), the underside of the pierced lid stamped 'Warranted Best London Manufacture', the kettle of exaggerated bun form, with turned ebony handles and foliate and anthemion decoration, the cast copper stand with reeded and foliate tripod supports with paw feet, 37cm high, the kettle 24.5cm diameter; together with a smaller range kettle; and iron 'trefoil' shaped trivet; and a copper 'jelly' mound with repoussé fish to the top, 20th century.
