A Slipware Pottery Large Armorial Dish, Charles Toft, Stoke-upon-Trent, circa 1870, reproducing a 17th century style Thomas Toft dish, with lion and unicorn supporters around a mantled helm and the Royal crest, and "Dieu et Mon Droit Thomas Toft", the angled flange with trellis in slip of cream, dark brown and light brown colours, old label on the back inscribed "Catton Hall Thirsk" and "Thrown and turned flatware dish in slipware, made in Burslem and North Staffordshire, restoration of Charles II, 21inches, made by Thomas Toft famous potter", 54cm diameter (severely cracked) See illustration
