A Victorian silver mounted travelling vanity case, Charles Fox and Co Ltd, London 1890/91, the leather case with hinged cover opening to reveal slide mechanism drawers, all encompassing silver topped dressing table jars, with two removeable trays, hidden compartments and a mirror, stamped 'Fisher 188 Strand' 20 x 37.5 x 27cm, within a leather carry case, initialed to the front (at fault) (some pieces with associated silver mounts) Condition report: This vanity case belonged to the vendor's relative Eleanor Georgina Meyrick, nee Nevill (d.1964) of Apley Castle, Wellington, Telford. Married to the late Roland Francis Mayrick, heir to Sir Thomas Charlton Mayrick.Condition report: Please note approx four pieces (thimble, scissors and further piece) are not hallmarked. Remainder of pieces are marked, some associated, of various years and makers. Clothes brushes are worn and the bristles will need replacing. Lacking approx eight pieces within the vanity case. General scuffs, tarnishing, scratches, dents, nibbles, blemishes seen throughout, commensurate with age and use. Leather carry case is stained and worn. Interior of vanity case shows wear and residue.
