An early 20th Century tinplate bi-plane, painted cream with a green nose and R.A.F. roundels, the fuselage also with 'Reggie' and a skull and crossbones to each side, the tail with '9-1918', generally fair-good condition (wings detached and lacking supporting struts; tail fin detached; tail minus one rear wing), 28.5cm long.
An old American Indian Blackfoot War Bonnet, mounted with 35 eagle feathers and 3 partridge feathers to front. The headband trimmed with fur terminating in 4 tails at rear. The brow of the deerskin skull has a band of small blue, white and red beads, circular discs of beads at sides with central small feather attached. GC for age, housed in a hard skin sheath with small fringe of leather strips attached to edge. Good Condition Plate 10

A rare Philippines (moro) mail shirt,19th century formed of numerous large brass plates joined by butted brass rings, opening at the front, secured by a pair of shaped brass catches, extending to the thigh, and covering the upper portion of the arms; a rare Philippines (Moro) brass helmet, early 19th century, formed in two halves joined at a raised pierced comb, with pointed peak front and rear, pierced around the base of the skull, fitted with plume-holder at the rear and a pair of ear-defences; a Philippines (Moro) armoured shirt, 19th century, formed of closely meshed rows of butted brass links carrying horn plates of characteristic form throughout, and closed at the front by a pair of brass catches on larger horn plates; and a rare Indonesian armoured shirt, 19th century, formed of woven rattan, applied over its entire surface with numerous rectangular bone plaques arranged in horizontal rows including large circular bosses at the front and another at the rear (4) Op.cit., pp.446-447, figs.318, 318a, and p.426, fig.301a.
A German light cavalry zischagge,circa 1620-30 in the East European fashion, with faceted hemispherical skull formed in one piece, embossed with low segmental ridges radiating from a button finial on an iron rosette washer, fitted with narrow ogival peak retaining its bracket and screw for a nasal-bar (missing), neck-guard of six articulated tapering lames each with boldly cusped subsidiary edge, the outer lame with strongly lobated edge, fitted with a pair of pendant cheek-pieces bouched behind the eye and pierced about a concentric domed boss (one detached), the borders with rows and bands of brass-capped rivets (a small quantity replaced), and the edges with plain turns 28cm; 11in high For a zischagge of similar form (attributed to the late 16th century)
A German black-and-white infantry burgonet,early 17th century formed in two pieces drawn-up to a cabled narrow comb, embossed with a large fleur-de-lys on both sides of the skull, drawn-out at the front to form a pointed up-turned peak and a short neck-guard at the rear, with a row of lining rivets on brass rosette washers, and indented turned edges (cheek-pieces missing); a North German Burgonet, late 16th century, with a two-piece skull and decorated with incised triple-line bands throughout (cheek-pieces missing, rust holes and rust patination); and a German mitten gauntlet, mid-16th century, in excavated condition (lames detached) the first: 26.6cm; 10.5 in high (4)
A kettle hat in German 15th Century style,late 19th/early 20th Century formed in one piece, with broad down-turned brim with an inwardly turned roped edge, bulbous skull rising to a low comb, and encircled with a row of lining rivets at the base 22.8cm; 9in high Similar helmets were made by the German armourer Ernst Schmidt of Munich in the late 19th and early 20th Century. A finely constructed copy of a visored sallet in the so-called Italian 'export' style of circa 1460 with two-piece skull joined by a low a comb of rectangular section, drawn-out to a pointed tail at the rear, fitted with pivoting visor formed with a strongly cusped upper edge, pierced with a single vision slot, and secured by a stud on the right, with plain outward turns, and in 'aged' condition throughout; and a copy of a Flemish shaffron, early 16th century, formed of a main plate medially ridged below a central escutcheon and embossed with a series of flutes on each side, fitted with a pair of ear and ocular defences, a pair of additional side-plates fluted en suite with the main plate, shaped muzzle-plate, and in 'aged' condition throughout the first: 24.2cm; 9.5in high (2)
A German Harquebusier's Burgonet,circa 1570-75 with one-piece skull rising to a triangular comb, drawn-out to an up-turned pointed peak and to a narrow flange at the rear, the latter fitted with neck-guard of one lame, retaining one hinged cheek-piece, and the edges with plain turns (modern black painted finish). 28cm: 11in high The state of Styria ordered Harquebusier armours with helmets of this type from Nuremburg in 1570.
A rare German light burgonet for a Styrian Harquebusier (Schutzenhaube),circa 1577-79 with one-piece skull rising to a cabled comb, pivoted pointed peak struck with a mark, neck-guard of two narrow lames and a single broad lower lame all articulating on sliding rivets, the peak and lower neck lame each with turned cabled edge, and retaining some original blackened finish throughout (the armoured side-straps and one rivet missing) 30.5cm; 12in high The state of Styria ordered 4,532 burgonets of this particular type from Nuremberg between 1577 and 1579. To date, 275 burnished examples and 42 blackened examples remain on display in the Landeszeughaus in Graz; fourteen different maker's marks exist within the group. See Dr. F. A composite German fluted part-armour for the field,comprehensively circa 1505-1520 comprising close helmet with well-formed broad one-piece skull of Innsbruck type rising to a broad fluted low keel over the top, embossed with two sprays of flutes radiating left and right from the nape of the neck and studded with a row of brass-capped rivets around the base, fitted with later neck-guard of three articulations and later visor and bevor each pivoted at a common point and locked by spring-catches, collar of circa 1590, strongly formed, comprising three plates front and rear, and connected entirely by internal leathers and hinged on the left (the leathers now entirely deteriorated), breast-plate, circa 1505-10, of globose form embossed with three fan-shaped groups of widely spaced flutes radiating from the base to a point below the middle, formed with strongly pronounced plain angular turns at the neck and arm openings, with no provision for moveable gussets at the arms, pierced with a pair of holes for laces, fitted with hinged lance-rest, almost certainly the original, the latter decorated with inlaid strips of latten on the arm, a latten rosette over the pivot and further strips of latten around the base, articulated waist-plate incised to match the fluting at the breast and fauld (the former associated and expertly cut to fit), fauld of four lames moving on sliding rivets and carrying a pair of four-lame tassets fluted to match the fauld (one lame of the fauld missing),
