A Dunhill Aquarium table lighter, of lobed rectangular form, each side with reverse painted intaglio fish and rock decoration on lucite panels, with plated mounts, signed 'Dunhill' to the arm, 'Made in England' to the base, 8 cm high x 9.5 cm x 5 cm.Private collection.Not in working order currently. Bruise and scratches to the top edge corner on one side of lighter. Remnants of previous silver polish to the mounts. Base metal showing through in places. Some light surface scratches visible under a glass, throughout, but no further apparent damage.

THREE ENGRAVED CARNELIAN INTAGLIO SEALS PROPERTY FROM A PRIVATE GLYPTOLOGY COLLECTOR India and Qajar Iran, dated to the late 18th and 19th centuryComprising a square, table-cut carnelian seal, engraved with three overlapping and intertwined lines of Arabic thuluth script reading the common invocation to Allah known as bismillah (Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim, "In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful"), dated at the bottom 1210 AH (1795 AD); another of oval shape, engraved on both sides, with nominal inscriptions, on one side featuring an elegant single line of thuluth script reading the name Hasan and the date 1281 AH (1865 AD), on the reverse a cruder double line nasta'liq inscription reading the name Hajji al-Hasani Hamaladad (?) and the date 1278 AH (1861 AD); and another nominal seal, of narrow rectangular shape, dated 1190 AH (1776 AD), surrounded by a rosette vegetal festoon.16.5mm x 14.9mm 19.5mm x 17mm 15.2mm x 11.1mm Seals were considered very valuable possessions by their owners and as such, they were very rarely discarded, even once their owners ceased to use them. An Arts & Crafts copper framed easel back table mirror, the arched top with Ruskin cabochon, the mirror plate with bevelled edges28 x 18cmThe whole fits together somewhat loosely, copper frame has folded metal tabs top and sides to hold the mirror in place. Back is made from iron. Wire easel support is copper and supported with an additional piece of wire.Hammered copper frame is fixed with hand made pins, and the horizontal sections top and bottom have a micro scalloped edge. Dent on left hand side approx 2cm diameter, lower section slightly out of alignment. Some small areas of oxidisation and surface dirt.

A WMF Art Nouveau green glass and silver-plated copper table centrepiece - shape no. 252, cast '252' mark to either side of base and impressed WMF marks to one handle, the frame of sinuous openwork form with high wing handles, decorated with foliage and berries, the green glass insert with scalloped and toothed rim and engraved floral decoration, 42.3 cm handle-to-handle, 14 cm high.* Condition: A little wear to plating to the raised areas of decoration. Condition Report: Generally good, structurally secure, with wear and tear consistent with age and use. The catalogue illustration is accurate. The black `leather cloth' top with splits caused by shrinkage to the carcase. There are losses and old repairs to the cocus wood banding. The reverse is quite sun-faded which has had a drying and deteriorating effect on the glue. There are three oak-lined drawers in the front, three similar to the reverse, the central one fitted with three small mahogany drawers (one missing), the outer two with original adjustable divisions. The drawer pulls have been repositioned or more likely replaced. The castors apparently original. Overall a handsome table of practical (small) size and in good close-to original condition but would benefit from cosmetic restorations. The measurement from frieze to floor is approximately 60cm. A CARVED MAHOGANY CONSOLE TABLE LATE 19TH CENTURY, IN GOTHIC TASTE The polished stone top above a frieze decorated with quatrefoils and fluting, on square section legs decorated with further Gothic tracery 78cm high, 152cm wide, 59cm deepThe carved fretwork decoration on the present table demonstrates the influence of 'Gothick' designs featured in the influential design books by leading London cabinet-makers, such as Thomas Chippendale and Ince and Mayhew, in the mid to late 18th century. For a design of side table by Thomas Chippendale that illustrates some of the 'Gothick' attributes shown on this table, see Thomas Chippendale's, The Gentleman and Cabinet Maker's Director, The Third Edition (1762), printed John Tiranti ltd, London, 1939, pl.LVII. A FRENCH GILT BRONZE TABLE CENTREPIECE EARLY 20TH CENTURY Tole liner, fruit and flower moulded form with six candle branches 40.5cm high, 61cm wideIllustrated: The Connoisseur, May 1965, p.6 Condition Report: One section of end strapwork detached- currently with 2 temporary screws for display- and there are several other vacant screw holes suggesting that this may originally have had further applied ornament- a handle perhaps? The candles sit a little irregularly- this may because they are not in their correct position points but there are no numerals to guide correct positioning.
