"Sibella" Acct. of sundry Disbursements on the Sloop Sibella by Thomas Phillips Jun., a list of expenditure during the period 1782-84, including costs for pilotage, provisions, carpenters, rigging, porters for "discharging the Beef", a payment to "14 Men for Towing her in it being Calm", and a payment for getting up the anchor lost by bad weather at Penzance, 2 pages, along with, an An Account between Chris Wallis and Co., in the Scilly Isles and Thomas Jun., relating to the Sloop Sibella, a fine large debit and credit account, neatly written, from 1781 to 1785, giving details of cargoes of coal from Neath and Swansea, wood from Plymouth, fruit, beef and brandy, 1 page, and a List of Disbursements to Samuel Ellis relating to a voyage by the Sibella to Swansea, 16th April to 27th June 1782, a good, legible document, with payments for quay dues at St. Ives, to a tidesman, for repairs, and for coal, also Acct. of the Brandy and Rum Sold [from the Sloop Sibella] 14th June 1782, by Mr. Edwards, "the Brandy for home consumption not divided", 2 pages, also several other documents and accounts relating to the Sibella and the sale of its cargo, all from the early 1780s, The Sibella, owned by Thomas Phillips and captained by Samuel Ellis, was evidently engaged in trade between the Cornish ports (Gweek, Penryn and Penzance are mentioned) and the Scilly Isles, and the South Wales ports of Neath and Swansea.
