Registration - J49 FDMChassis No. - WVWZZZ1GZNW091609M.O.T. - June 2025Odometer - 160,350The Mk2 Volkswagen Golf GTI is an increasingly collectable car and this 1991 example, offered at No Reserve, is a desirable example. Finished in black with the appealing rainbow interior, it is a GTI 8v with expert upgrades to the 1800cc engine. The head has been gas-flowed, ported and polished, there’s a Piper 276 fast-road high-lift camshaft, bronze valve guides, re-ground valves with unleaded petrol valve seat conversion, and a Piper vernier pulley on the camshaft. Further enhancing performance is a 2.25-inch stainless-steel exhaust. The timing belt was replaced at 155,000 miles. The vendor describes both engine and transmission as being in ‘excellent’ condition. ‘J49FDM’ has enhanced suspension too. It has adjustable AP Racing coilovers, plus Eibach anti-roll bars front and rear. Enhancing both handling and looks are nearly-new ATS Cup wheels. Inside, the GTI features electric windows, and a premium Pioneer touchscreen stereo that brings a modern touch to the classic cabin. The vendor has had a new roof lining fitted, and adds that all the glass is original. ‘J49FDM’ also has an MOT that’s valid until June 2025. A comprehensive history file comes with the car, including plenty of receipts and even the original service record. An HPI report shows the car was previously written off as a Category C back in 2010. The Volkswagen Golf GTI is the original GTI. The Mk1 caused a stir in the 1970s but it was the Mk2, introduced in 1983, that really put the model on the map. An icon of the 1980s, people loved its classy appearance, effortless performance and fabulous reliability. This saw an entire enthusiast community grow around the car, which thrives to this day. A great starter classic whose famed build quality still makes a difference, the Volkswagen Golf GTI Mk2 remains as desirable as ever. In summary:Collectable Volkswagen Golf GTI Mk2Expert enhancements to the 1800cc 8v engineOffered at No Reserve

Wonderfully restored first generation 240Z, Datsun's 1970's flagship, looking as good today as it ever did. The Datsun 240Z was unveiled to the press in October 1969 and made its public appearance a few days later at the Tokyo Motor Show. To say it was well received would be an understatement, with its stylish modernity, well set-out interior and torquey six-cylinder engine. As had become apparent during its creation, the Datsun 240Z represented all the requirements of sporting drivers by fulfilling their desires for superb styling, power and safety whilst providing them with the most thrilling and enjoyable ride available in any car at the time. According to Classic and Sportscar, the 'Z' was 'In a different technical league' whilst Road and Track Magazine noted 'Datsun have reinvented the sports car with the sleek, civilised, sexy and sporty 240Z'.The new car was powered by a lusty 2.4-litre, straight-six, overhead cam engine developing around 150bhp, resulting in a 0-60mph time of eight seconds and a top speed of 125mph. The well spaced 5-speed gear ratios made the most of the engine's torque whilst retaining the ability to achieve in excess of 30mpg, a figure that put the 'Z' ahead of many of its contemporaries and on a par with Porsche 911s of the time. The car featured independent suspension all round, with MacPherson struts at the front and Chapman links at the rear. Rack and pinion steering and front disc brakes meant that the 240Z was a thoroughly modern package. As time passed, the 240Z evolved into the 260Z and later the 280Z, however it's the original 240Z that continues to captivate enthusiasts with its timeless elegance and minimalist design. The 240Z not only established Datsun (now Nissan) as a credible Japanese sports car brand in the early 1970s but also solidified its presence on the American automotive map. Today, the 240Z holds a special place in the hearts of enthusiasts and collectors alike, representing the epitome of the Japanese classic car.Dating from late 1972, although first registered in 1973, the 240Z we present here has been subject to a sympathetic, photo-documented, bare-metal restoration by its long term owner, retaining as many original parts as possible. It now presents in, what we believe is, Grigio Silverstone, with a black leather and needle cord interior, an impressive engine bay and refurbished Wolfrace alloys. Our vendor states that 'after 20 years of ownership that there are no gremlins anywhere, it is and has always been garaged, fully Waxoyled, matching numbers and a comprehensive history dating back to the 1970s'.Worthy of a space in any Collection or enthusiast's hands, whether as a confidence-inspiring driver or a simply stunning showpiece, this 240Z represents the perfect opportunity to own what is one of the finest examples we have seen for some time.Specification Make: DATSUN Model: 240Z Year: 1972 Chassis Number: HS30102522 Registration Number: UYE 909M Transmission: Manual Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 45239 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images

Registration No: 758 XWB Frame No: VS5T0057985 MOT: ExemptMammoth creation by Retrospective Scooters, LondonSpecialised parts by Lino Brotto, Italian restoration master and fabricator for The Piaggio Museum. Now fully running with a V5C presentThe Vespa Six Day Racers Sei Giorni were the special Piaggio works race machines for the endurance race tournaments held back in the 1940's and early 1950's by all the big Italian two wheel manufacturers to prove that their bikes and scooters were tough and reliable. They would race them around Italy over the rough road surfaces (just after the war) and they they competed with Lambretta, but also Ducati, MV Augusta, Laverda, Moto Guzzi, Bianchi and many more. These six day racers were not any ordinary factory specification Vespa but an improved modified, strengthened and tuned scooter to combat the semi off road conditions, reliability being the key and make it to the end of that days course. This machine is an evocation of the very last version of the Sei Giorni with the 10" wheels and twin spare wheels. Retrospective Scooters of London used the chassis of a notably 1959 Douglas Vespa as the basis of the project. They actually flew to Italy to meet Lino Brotto, the famous restorer of many of the rarest Vespa models for the Piaggio factory museum. Lino provided many specialist parts needed to make a six-day racer replica and also showed them the skills required to replicate the bodywork of this special racer. The London Scooter Bodyshop undertook the mammoth task of moulding and metal fabrication of the frame into the specialist racer body shape adding special extra strength plates and leg shield shaping. Specialist parts include the long-range tank, map holder, spare wheel holders, shortened handlebars, side stand, seamless mudguard, strengthened swing arm, engine panel catches and holder, air intake and bash plates. The engine is a GS150 with an extra curved kickstart, special flywheel and cylinder cowling. We are informed that the scooter starts and runs 'like new' and is the ultimate copy of this iconic Vespa Factory racer of which there were only around 100 made. This was made with the intention to be an exact copy using the official book as a guide and copying it down to the last detail.
