Bone China Dinnerware Set with Mazarin Blue and Gilt Design, John and William Ridgway, Cauldon Place and Bell Works, Shelton, Hanley, Staffordshire, circa 1825 - Pattern 964This refined bone china dinnerware set presents a stunning Mazarin blue and gilt motif, perfect for any discerning collector or dining connoisseur. The set comprises elegantly crafted pieces, including a series of ornate tureens and eight dessert plates. Each piece is unified by a broad Mazarin blue and gilt border, adorned with intricate C-scroll reserves in buff and gilt. At the centre lies a white tablet featuring a hand-painted floral arrangement in vibrant colours, providing a beautiful contrast to the rich border. The tureens are distinguished by their raised feet and elaborate side patterns, amplifying their decorative appeal. Furthermore, each item is accentuated with gilt edging and white mouldings delicately traced in gilt, highlighting the exquisite craftsmanship of this set. 3 plates, and 1 shallow dish, have a hairline fault which runs through the length of the item. This is visible in the photographs, therefore 4 items in total of the 14 are a/f. The other 10 pieces are better than expected with 200 years of age, with no obvious defects.
