A German walnut cased floor standing Polyphon, 196cm high, 64cm wide, 38cm deep, with eight 50cm diameter discs, the case has been restored, with a replacement base and gallery top. Condition - fair to good. It appears to be in good working order. There is significant restoration which appears to have been carried out to a high standard.

Lifting to top, splits to back, knocks and chips to corners and edges. Interior with missing glass front to compartment. Lock mechanism to side of door missing and chips around top lock mechanism, with keys missing. Tarnishing to metal mounts and mechanism. Teeth to combs appear to be all present but there is heavy dirt deposit. Not in working order, winder does not engage. In need of repair. Discs with scratches, rusting and knocks.

A late Victorian Polyphon disc musical box, walnut and beech cabinet, originally purchased from Harrods of London. Complete with nineteen reproduction 5/8" discs, a coin in the slot mechanism (accepting old pennies) and keys for locking the pennies away. The discs were replaced, as the originals were rusty - resulting in rust blocking up the motor. This Swiss-made musical box itself is original and stands on a reproduction disc box. A French continental 19th century mahogany cased Polyphon disc operated music box. The music box with gilt metal Marque de Fabrique (trade mark) plaque to inside. Together with thirteen discs. Sold as untested. Some damage to top with some brass inlay missing. Measures approx. 16cm x 26cm x 24cm.
