Lot 45

Registration No: VHJ 461H Chassis No: 1R35598 MOT: Exempt1 of just 1,040 RHD home-market examples builtMatching chassis, engine and gearbox numbersExtensive mechanical improvement while in the vendor's ownership to the sum of c.£10,000Pleasingly unmolested and original specification, and finished in its original colour scheme of Signal Red with Black interiorSupplied with a history file including the Heritage CertificateTriumphantly unveiled at the 1961 Geneva Motor Show, the Jaguar E-Type created a furore thanks to its supercar performance, stunning looks and modest price tag. Early racing success at the hands of Graham Hill and Roy Salvadori amongst others helped cement the newcomer's reputation. Built as a monocoque with an engine-cradling front sub-frame, the E-type's combination of all-round independent suspension and disc brakes allied to rack-and-pinion steering resulted in excellent road-holding and handling capabilities. Introduced in 1968, the Series II cars were distinguishable by their revised bumper and light arrangements. Less noticeable was the increased size of the front air intake that in conjunction with dual cooling fans made the Series II better behaved in hot weather and heavy traffic. With its 4235cc engine developing a quoted 265bhp and 283lbft of torque, it was reputedly capable of nearly 150mph and 0-60mph in 7.5 seconds. The range expanded with a 2+2 derivative joining the Coupe and Roadster and evolved through steady stages until the final Series 3 V12s bowed out in 1975.1 of just 1,040 RHD home-market examples built, this 2+2 was manufactured on the 19th of September 1969 and was supplied new by Henlys of London to its first owner, F R Lockett, through Abbott Motors. Finished from the factory in Signal Red paintwork and Black leather interior upholstery, chassis 1R35598 is pleasingly still presented in the original colour scheme today. Boasting being in its original specification including the original wheels and being sunroof free, the E-Type features the desirable manual gearbox, and a matching chassis, engine, and gearbox numbers example too! In previous long-term ownership from 1995, the Jaguar was lavished with a comprehensive restoration in 2000 including a full engine overhaul by VSE (Jaguar specialist). More recently benefitting from a substantial bodywork restoration in 2009, the E-Type was provided with new sills, door skins, complete respray, and all internal areas protective coated.Purchased by the vendor in 2016, during this ownership ‘VHJ 461H’ has benefited from an extensive mechanical restoration, following on from the previous engine overhaul, with some £10,000 worth of expenditure. The work completed has included complete overhaul of the IRS (independent rear suspension) and IRS frame sandblasted and stove enamelled; full gearbox overhaul by Klassic Transmissions; all new clutch and accompanied parts; new wheel bearings; full suspension overhaul with extensive new parts including shock absorbers; renewed brake system with overhauled callipers and new pads, brake hoses, and pipes; prop shaft overhaul with new UJs; new master and slave cylinder; new stainless steel exhaust system; new Hi-Torque starter motor; steel heating pipes (from bulkhead behind dash) replaced; all wheels blasted stove enamelled and fitted new original size Pirelli Tyres; and ignition switch and steering lock renewed.Supplied with a history file that includes the Jaguar Heritage Certificate; a vast collection of previous invoices; numerous past MOT certificates and tax discs; a service manual; a parts catalogue; and a current V5C document, the E-Type also has its Jaguar tool roll. Matching numbers, original colour combination, and the desirable manual gearbox, for those looking for an unmolested UK-car, this has got to be worth considering! With less than 8,000 miles covered since the full engine overhaul, and the mechanicals extensively further sorted in the vendor's ownership, 1R35598 is ready for pressing into use with a new custodian. Registration No: L105 WGH Chassis No: JZA800011837 MOT: April 2026Just 40,648km from new (c.25,146 miles)Imported from Japan in 1999 and used sparingly until dry storage with a private collectorDesirable 2JZ-GTE engine mated to a six-speed Getrag manual transmissionFitted from nearly new with a full VeilSide body kit and split-wheel rimsA 'must have' for the JDM collectorOverseen by Isao Tsuzuki, work on the fourth generation (A80) Toyota Supra began in February 1989. Debuting at the Chicago Motor Show some four years later, the resultant 2+2-seater Coupe was a technological tour de force. Engaged in something of an ‘arms race’ with its fellow Japanese manufacturers and similarly keen to challenge the established European sports car hierarchy, Toyota created a machine which, in its ultimate twin-turbocharged guise, was very special indeed. The heart of the forced induction A80 was the mighty ‘2JZ-GTE’ straight-six DOHC 3.0 litre engine boasting a ‘closed deck’ cylinder block, forged steel crankshaft and three-layer steel cylinder head gasket all of which meant that it was completely unstressed when developing 276bhp and 318lbft of torque in Japanese specification. So strong was the unit that tuners were able to add hundreds of extra horsepower whilst still retaining stock internals. Outputs of over 1,000bhp were readily achievable and the most potent ‘2JZ-GTE’ was rated at 2,041bhp! Little wonder then that so many owners have succumbed to the lure of modification. The other boon of the ‘2JZ-GTE’ was its use of sequential turbochargers, which flattened the torque curve to such an extent that ninety percent of its peak was available from 1,300rpm to 4,500rpm. Today, we take nigh-on ‘lag free’ forced induction for granted, but in the early 1990s it was a revelation. It wasn’t just the engine which marked the flagship A80 as a stand-out design. Inspired by contemporary F1 practice, the Supra utilised a four-channel ABS braking system, enabling Car & Driver magazine to decelerate one from 70-0mph in forty-five metres (a record only surpassed by the Porsche Carrera GT hypercar in 2004). The provision of all-round independent suspension and Bilstein dampers provided ample grip, the Toyota recording 0.98g on the skidpan. However, despite its excellence, the A80 remained something of a left-field choice in the UK with many buyers plumping for a (slower) Porsche 911 or Ferrari 348 instead. Thus, just 623 Supras were UK supplied from 1993-1996, with less than half those thought to have survived.Supplied new to the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) in 1993 as a sought-after JZA80 Twin Turbo-charged Supra fitted with the desirable six-speed manual gearbox, chassis JZA800011837 was imported into the UK in 1999. The desirable full VeilSide body kit that was fitted in Japan, is complemented by a matching set of VeilSide five spoke split rims that are shod with Pirelli T0 tyres. Remarkably, the Twin Turbo-charged Coupé would cover only c.40,000km (c.24,854 miles) before import and before being registered in the UK as ‘L105 WGH’. Used very sparingly until it remained in the vendor’s private collection in a heated garage, it was maintained as-and-when required and now displays some 40,648km (c.25,146 miles). Now presenting as one of the best-preserved examples available and having escaped the usual drift circuits that these cars have become so highly sought-after for, ‘L105 WGH’ has been recently recommissioned with a new cam belt fitted in January 2024 plus a full fluids service, and will be offered complete with a copy of its original Japanese language service book.We would agree with the vendor that the Supra presents ‘excellently’ and must surely be one of the finest examples available on the market. The vendor has informed us that the engine itself remains standard aside from being fitted with an uprated HKS dump valve and HKS full exhaust system, which again, are both in excellent order. The vendor has advised the interior presents ‘excellently’ in the original duo-tone Black and Red colour combination and has an uprated sound system with an Alpine Head Unit, DDDrive Speakers with the customary Japanese TV and DVD player fitted. The vendor has also advised that the factory air-conditioning and electric seats operate ‘flawlessly’.Now presented for the first time on the UK market, this time-warp Supra is a fine example of what has become a truly investable modern classic, with values well on the rise in recent years and more and more interest gathering in them; no doubt for their Ferrari eating qualities! [Probably the first time they met was when] Oscar Wilde's son, Vyvyan Holland, came of age in November 1907 and Robert Ross organised a dinner party for him. Among the twelve guests were Ronald Firbank, Charles Ricketts and Charles Shannon. It was probably the first time Shannon and Firbank had met; the former came from the artistic circles around Ross, the latter from Holland's Cambridge student life.'

Registration No: 50 RHN Frame No: 235116 MOT: ExemptBeautifully engineered OHC 175ccTypical curvaceous Italian stylingSupplied with a spare engine and V5CLike most pioneers in the automotive world, Edoardo Bianchi started out making bicycles in 1885 and by 1897 had fitted an engine into the centre of a strengthened cycle frame to provide a motorised version. In 1910 Bianchi designed a 498cc single that proved to be very successful and established Bianchi as a respected motorcycle manufacturer with a range of models that included a 600cc V-twin. Bianchi became a prominent name in the motorcycle racing world with bikes such as the DOHC 350cc works racer designed by Albino Baldi, Bianchi's chief engineer, becoming probably the most successful Italian racing bike at the time ridden by riders such as the legendary Tazio Nuvolari and Alberto Ascari. The company also created a car brand, Autobianchi, in 1955 in collaboration with Pirelli and Fiat and kept producing motorcycles until the late 1960s before returning to their roots and concentrating on high quality racing bicycles. This rare in the UK Bianchi Tonale 175, being offered with no reserve, is a typically stylish overhead-cam sports model with a unit construction engine housed in a twin loop frame with full-width alloy hubs. The lightweight sports class was very popular in Italy at the time, with most manufacturers designing bikes to compete in long distance events like the Moto Giro d'Italia, with Bianchi winning the race in 1956 ridden by works rider Osvaldo Perfetti. The Sandro Colombo designed Tonale was way in advance of anything being offered by its British contemporaries but also considerably more expensive. Unusually, according to the registration document, this example appears to have spent all of its life in the UK being first registered in June 1961. It comes supplied with most of a spare engine, a megaphone and a racing seat together with current V5C. For more information, please contact: Ian Cunningham ian.cunningham@handh.co.uk 07415871189

Lot 117

Registration No: WXG 156 Frame No: 11227863 MOT: ExemptMultiple show winnerConservation by Maskes Vespa Classics at a cost of over £3000Matching numbersThe first time a Vespa was seen in Great Britain was on the stand of motorcycle manufacturer Douglas at the 1949 Motor Cycle Show. The scooter was discovered in Italy by Douglas Motorcycles managing Director Claude McCormack when the company was in the hands of the official receiver. The Vespa presented itself as a solution to the British companies problems and a deal was made with Piaggio to begin production of the Vespa under licence in Bristol in England starting with the ‘Rod model’ launched in March 1951. The ‘Rod’ model was slow to market and featured the same eternal design as the 1949 Italian ‘Bacchetta’ save for the position of the head light. Douglas were that far behind in development terms launching a year late and only producing 300 scooters per month by 1952. The result in todays international collectors market is that British built Douglas Vespas have in recent times emerged with a really special rarity and collectibility status. Only 11,848 Douglas Vespa Rod models were produced from April 1951 and 1954. It is believed only around 100 survive*.Our vendor discovered this scooter on a farm near Stoke on Trent approximately 12 years ago. Registration No: Unregistered Frame No: 01630002 MOT: ExemptExtremely original with one reported owner from newVery rare to find a 42L2 like this Last on the road in 1977 confirmed by tax discDouglas Vespas have in recent times emerged with a special rarity and collectability status. The 42L2 although still a ‘handlebar’ Vespa was a new design and a departure from the previous Douglas Vespa models; The Rod model, and Model G and GL2 which had the headlight precariously perched on the front of the leg shield. The many changes on the new ‘world scooter’ design saw a new headlamp layout on the handlebars with a speedometer incorporated and the control switch and various engine improvements were introduced throughout. These brought the British Vespas up to a parity with the then other ‘world scooters’, the Italian ‘Struzzo’ and French ACMA V56 amongst others. The British Douglas scooters were however painted in different and unique colours from the rest of the world. The 42L2 much rarer with its shorter fuel tank than the 92L2 was uniquely sold with a bench seat as standard. We present here a magnificent 42L2 in totally original and correct condition. Discovered in a probate house clearance it was purchased from the daughter of a lady who had used it up until she had a spill in 1977 which was when it was last on the road, although with the speedometer mileage at 19,133 miles she was certainly used well. Stored in a dry garage since, we note the original dealer motif is present from Moss Ltd of Cambridge. This originality is rare to see. The original bench seat cover is in remarkably good condition. Solid and showing no signs of repair, the running in transfer is still visible. The original Lucas electrical equipment lights and lenses including battery are all present. We note that all over the machine it is exactly how it came out of the factory save some wash paint over the side panels which will almost certainly be easily be removed. Engine number matches the chassis and the originality stretches to the original D Douglas hand grips and even the original Pirelli tyres. It's understood the number 'RCE 88' could be retained with the aid of a dating certificate from the VVC of which one is included. Registration – XIB 6424Chassis No. – SAJJNAED3EJ185955M.O.T. – September 2025Odometer – 98,000‘XIB6424’ is fine looking example of a Jaguar XJS Coupe in one of its most sought after guises. Under Ford ownership the sporting flagship was significantly revised to prolong its growing popularity. As such, ‘XIB6424’ exhibits all the 1991 facelift improvements as well as providing a home to the much admired 4.0-litre AJ6, straight six power plant. This is considered by many in the know as offering the best combination of refinement, power and economy. Acquired by its current keeper in September 2024, ‘XIB6424’ comes complete with a full service history, new headlining and a fresh set of Pirelli tyres. With a valid MOT until September this year and a striking and popular livery, ‘XIB6424’ is ready to drive, relish and enjoy being seen in.‘XIB6424’ presents in the perennially popular and head turning Flamenco Red hue. This is further enhanced by a front to back coach line, a smattering of chromed brightwork and a familiar set of Jaguar’s 16-inch, lattice style alloy wheels. The beautifully appointed cabin complements this livery perfectly with its ample magnolia hides and accompanying cloths and carpets in similar tones. In the case of ‘XIB6424,’ the AJ6 4-litre straight six engine is mated to the four speed ZF automatic transmission. This configuration was originally rated at 245bhp and 289 Ib-ft or torque making ‘XIB6424’ an accomplished and refined long distance tourer with an impressive turn of speed when required. The vendor reports the paint and bodywork of ‘XIB6424’ as “good,” with the mechanicals, electrics and interior all warranting an “excellent” rating. In short, a desirable example of a Jaguar coupe whose stock is now seemingly on the rise.On acquiring Jaguar one of Ford’s first actions was to bring an end to the meandering XJS replacement program. Whilst they started from scratch with what would become the XK8, they endowed the XJS with some new and welcome attributes. These included a new 4-litre, six cylinder engine, bigger and black tinted rear lights and some tinkering with the rear window surrounds to make them look bigger and the controversial “flying buttresses” smaller. New instruments are the main facelifted items to be found inside the cabin. With these and other upgrades made, the XJS continued on in production until 1996, with these later cars becoming increasingly popular with the passing of time.In summary:· Highly original, eye catching and presentable condition· Improved post facelift model in a desirable and popular livery· Complete with a full service history, plenty of paperwork and a current MOT

Lot 97

Registration – V16 RORChassis No. – WP0ZZZ99Z6S738061M.O.T. – February 2026Odometer – 29,100The Porsche 911 997 represents the sixth iteration of this legendary German sports car easily recognised by the previous “fried egg” headlamps now replaced with the more classic looking “bug eye” units. ‘V16 ROR’ is a fine example of the 997 from its second year of production. What really sets ‘V16 ROR’ apart, however, is its miniscule 29,100 miles covered to date. That equates to a mere 1,500 miles or so per year. To further monopolise on that remarkable provenance, ‘V16 ROR’ comes complete with a full service history from a mix of dealers and independent specialists. ‘V16 ROR’ has been borescope checked for bore score and has been deemed clear with documentary proof available. ‘V16 ROR’ is a desirable six speed manual version, complete with a valid MOT until January 2026 and ready and raring to go immediately.Being the desirable S version, ‘V16 ROR’ features the bigger 3824cc six cylinder boxer engine originally rated at an impressive 355bhp at 6,600 rpm offering a 29bhp uplift over the standard Carrera. 295 Ib-ft of torque was available 4,600 rpm making this a very tractable unit, too. Other S upgrades include Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and an uprated braking system. ‘V16 ROR’ features the preferred six speed manual gearbox. This configuration was originally good for a sub five second 0-60mph sprint and an 186mph top speed. The vendor rates the engine, transmission and electrics as “excellent.”‘V16 ROR’ presents in gleaming Basalt Black and features those big, elliptical “classic” headlamps and a set of 19-inch “Lobster Claw” alloy wheels also finished in gloss black. These are shod with a set of quality Pirelli P-Zero tyres. This black on black livery lends ‘V16 ROR’ a stealthy and imposing road presence. The sports orientated cabin is another black on black environment with the seats upholstered in supple perforated leather in black. The front seats feature embossed Porsche shield emblems to the integral headrests. It’s well specified in here, too, with a Porsche Apple CarPlay head unit and Bose sound system. Paintwork, bodywork and interior are all rated as “good.”In summary:· A superb example of the 997.1 in higher power S specification· Having covered a mere 29,000 miles or so and complete with a thorough service history· Checked for bore score and deemed clear with documentary support

Lot 8

Registration – Y5 FSTChassis No. – WF03XXGCD37K85239M.O.T. – July 2025Odometer – 66,000This vibrant 2007 Ford Focus ST, resplendent in iconic Electric Orange, is described by the vendor as a “stunning example”. An original three-door example of the Mk2 Ford Focus ST, it uses a 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbo engine, which produces 225hp. This powerplant is now a legendary engine and is sure to become as desirable amongst collectors as the 1970s Ford BDA and 1980s Ford Cosworth 2.0-litre turbo. Even the registration, ‘Y5FST’ references this engine, adding to the desirability of this car. The engine is paired with a precise six-speed manual gearbox. Being a Ford Focus ST2 model, this car also features standard Xenon headlights, CD autochanger and a Quickclear heated windscreen. ‘Y5FST’ has been enthusiast-owned, with the vendor firmly saying they are not a boy racer. It has been really well looked after, with condition described as ‘excellent’ throughout – including engine, transmission, electrics, bodywork and interior. The odometer reads just 66,000 miles. The vendor has enhanced it with some well-judged upgrades including a K&N induction kit to make that five-cylinder engine breathe (and sound) even better. The engine has been remapped to take advantage of this. It has been lowered on Eibach springs, and fitted with uprated White Line anti-roll bars. The vendor adds there are four brand-new Pirelli P Zero premium tyres. The Ford Focus ST was the spiritual successor to the famous Ford Escort XR3i. The first iteration, the ST170, was introduced in 2002. It had a 170hp 2.0-litre engine and subtly enhanced styling. It was the Mk2 Focus ST that really set the world alight, though. This time, it had a warbling 2.5-litre turbo five-cylinder engine, producing a warbling 225hp, for 0-62mph in just 6.4 seconds. An icon was born, and the five-cylinder Ford Focus ST’s cult following amongst enthusiasts continues to grow today. · “Stunning” 2007 Ford Focus ST· Enthusiast-owned and in ‘excellent’ condition throughout· Four new Pirelli P Zero tyres
