A rare English porcelain jug possibly Brampton-in-Torksey, circa 1805 painted each side with buildings in a country landscape and with the gilt initials WW beneath the spout, gilt line border, 13.5cm., 5.25; in., also a Pinxton coffee can, circa 1800, of Brookhill Hall type, painted with a titled view in red script, Queen Elizabeths Lodge, Essex; a Pinxton coffee can, circa 1800, painted with a landscape vignette; and an earthenware dessert plate, circa 1805, with a central circular panel painted with a figure leading a mule towards a cottage (4) A paper label on the base of the jug suggests that it was made for William Wheeldon, William Billingsley's nephew, who was employed at both Mansfield and Derby. A jug of identical form and with similar decoration is illustrated by C.Barry Sheppard, Pinxton Porcelain, 1795-1813, p.247, pl.270.
