Fornasetti, Milan, Italy. Group of six small decorative porcelain plates in Fornasetti's "Orchestra" pattern, ca. 1980. The plates depict painted groupings of various musical instruments on a faux bois ground. Each with Fornasetti's trademark, a hand with a paintbrush, along the underside and an inscription reading "Fornasetti Milano", "Orchestra", and "Made in Italy; plates are numbered two through seven.(Plates, each) diameter: 3 1/4 in. (Shipping dimensions) height: 2 1/2 in x diameter: 4 in.Condition: There are no chips, cracks, losses, or restorations throughout. Some wear along the footrims including fleabite chips. There are some small firing flaws along the edges of the undersides. Minute wear to the pigment along the oboe painted onto plate five.

His reference at discharge on 9 May 1912, adds: ‘Bombardier E. Taylor is an excellent performer on the oboe and Cor Anglais (English horn). He is also a very competent viola player.’

Crewed with then Flying Office Bill Neal and his crew who had completed their first tour. Joined 156 Squadron Pathfinders and declared operational on 11 June 1944 flying operations to support Normandy invasion forces. Describes pathfinder blind marking operations and mentions engagement by two night fighters. Describes operations against V-1 bomb sites formatting on oboe equipped Mosquito. Explains that most operation after August 1944 were day and night operations to Germany. Completed 40 operations and volunteered to go onto a further tour with his crew.
