English county maps. Lodge (John), Forty uncoloured engraved county maps, pub. J.Murray, 1787-90, each approx. 280 x 330 mm, some minor creasing and occasional light foxing, Middlesex map close-trimmed to left-hand margin, stitched into contemp. brown paper wrappers Chubb CCXLIX. These maps were issued with John Lodge's 'The Political Magazine and Parliamentary, Naval, Military and Literary Journal' between 1787 and 1790. There were forty five maps issued in the series, this collection lacking the general maps of England, Scotland and Wales and the separate maps of the Isles of Wight and Man. (40)
