HELEN KONIG SCAVINI (ITALIAN, 1886-1974) FOR LENCI, MASCHERA CON NODO (MASK WITH KNOT), CIRCA 1930-39 painted with polychromatic flowers, polkadot neckscarf, moulded icnel mark above scarve, signed Lenci MADE IN Italy TORINO 9-XII and further marks verso,27.5cm high,17cm wideCondition good to fair. Nibble to glaze bottom right of polka dot scarf approx. 1cm, and .3cm left of scarf, also two fur ther minor nibbles. There are two firing cracks visible to reverse of the mask - this is under glaze and has taken place during manufacturing process, I.e. isn't a structural issue. Further nibbles of 1mm, 5mm, 3mm and 8mm to upper edge of mask, and one of 2mm lower edge (these ones aren't visible when face up). Two manufacturing blemishes verso. Nibble of 2mm to dog's left ear (and another slightly below), of 3mm to upper book corner, of 4mm to right middle finger, approx. 1mm to dog's tail, and some smaller nibbles to glaze on base.
