Of circular domed form with a large 28mm central citrine in a foliate cast setting, and surrounded by chased and pierced thistles and pear cut amethyst and citrines, a further foliate cast border and a pierced lunette edge, the stones with enclosed backs, diameter 10.5cm, 141.4g.

CHARLES III (1948- ) King of the United Kingdom from 2022, formerly the Prince of Wales & DIANA (1961-1997) Princess of Wales, the first wife of Charles III from 1981-96. Signed and inscribed Christmas greetings card by both the Prince and Princess of Wales individually, the stiff white 8vo folding card featuring a colour photograph to the inside depicting the Prince standing outdoors in a full-length pose, wearing a kilt, alongside the Princess who is seated in a three-quarter length pose on a swing with the young Prince William seated in her lap. Signed ('Charles') by the Prince in bold black fountain pen ink, adding an inscription in his hand, above and below a printed greeting, 'Johnnie and Mrs. Robertson......from Charles and', the Princess adding her signature ('Diana') alongside, also in black fountain pen ink. With two gold coats of arms to the cover, representing the Prince of Wales and the Spencer family. EX

Three: Captain D. A. Haggard, Seaforth Highlanders, later Royal Construction Transport Depot, Royal Engineers 1914-15 Star (2. Lieut. D. A. Haggard. Sea. Highrs.); British War and Victory Medals, with copy M.I.D. oak leaves (Capt. D. A. Haggard.) good very fine (3) £180-£220 --- David Amyand Haggard was born in Essex on 12 March 1886, the son of Alfred Hinuber Haggard, and the nephew of the author Sir Henry Rider Haggard. He was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Seaforth Highlanders, and served with them during the Great War on the Western Front from 10 May 1915. Advanced Captain, he saw further service with the Railway Construction Transport Depot, Royal Engineers. His entitlement to the M.I.D. oak leaves is unconfirmed. He died in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, in 1965. Sold with the following related items: i) A silver Seaforth Highlanders Bonnet Badge and silver kilt pin. ii) A silver Vesta case, engraved ‘D. A. H.’ iii) A silver tobacco box, believed to have belonged to the recipient’s father, the lid enfaced with crest and initials ‘G. B. H.’ iv) Metal die for the recipient’s visiting card, engraved ‘Mr. Dan Haggard’. v) Two silver presentation plaques. vi) Epaulette from the recipient’s Army Greatcoat, with pips for the rank of Captain. vii) A copy of the book Allan Quartermain, by the recipient’s uncle Sir Henry Rider Haggard.

Modelled in the round male figure wearing a knee-length kilt with hem and waistband; in advancing pose with left leg extended; the neck long, face with pinched detailing and deep sockets to the eyes (to accept inlays); conical cap with flattened apex; the shoulders modelled with shallow sockets to accept separate arms; mounting lug beneath left foot; mounted on a custom-made stand.
