The artist states that he, too, wanted to leave but assures her that she can go to London, 'One of us has to go; if I were to go, I would have to keep my room here, and it may be difficult. In any case I could go to Eragny from time to time because this disease will last a long time the doctor said.' He further states that they must telegraph Lucien so that he can meet her in London and urges her not to delay if she decides to go, concluding 'I will await news from London...Let us do our best, I will have to send you money in London'.
