Group of French faience inkwells, late 19th/early 20th century, including: a Gien blue-ground rectangular inkwell decorated with grotteschi 29.5cm wide, a French armorial example with candle scones, inkwells and a drawer, a heart-shaped example and others, together with a Staffordshire pottery swan inkwell/spill (6) Property of Dunkirk Manor, Theescombe, Stroud Condition Report Example with fleur-de-lys shield and integral candlescones, with imitation Hannog marks - cracked and restored through back, also effecting one candlestick, with overpainting, one inkwel cover repaired, some glaze crazing and minor rim chipping overall.Heart shaped French faience inkwell - liner a replacement, chipping to rims, including one large chip to rim. Marked in manganese with two script ff, no. 177 and circle of dots. Qimper style pen-red-inkstand - decorated with a man flanked by wreaths, hairline crack and some typical glaze crazing. Gien faience inkstand with printed brown mark - hairline cracks to two apertures, one inkwell cracked, restoration to one corner finial (finial mostly lacking), chip to one rear foot, central rectangular aperture lacking liner. Some typical crazing overall. Boat-shaped example marled Clain, France, with replacement liner, chipping to rims. A small inkwell with cover marked 'Desvres France 854, 14..71'. Finial on cover is detached, wear overall. Staffordshire-style pottery spill vase with swan - cracked and restored, regilt.

A 19th Century continental Fiancerie De Gien of France 6 inch dust pressed tile, painted in the Persian style in tonal blue, terracotta and green over white ground, decorated with stylised flowers and leaves and shaped ogee panels, moulded and printed marks to reverse, together with a hand painted plastic clay tile fragment, attributed to Düsseldorfer Tonwarenfabrik Aktiengesellschaft of Germany, tonal blues with raised terracotta highlights over white ground, impressed marks to reverse. (2) NB - Both tiles were part of the estate of Mary Chambers, daughter of John Chambers, designer with Pilkington Tiles.
A French 16 piece polychrome 'hunting' service with Rambouillet design by Jean Bertholle for Gien, 2nd half 20th C.44 x 33 cm (the largest dish) Designed by Jean Bertholle in 1955 at the request of the French President, Rene Coty, this hand-painted service was created to furnish the prestigious homes that hosted the Presidential Hunts (link).

An early 20thC Mettlach stoneware and pewter mounted stein, the hinged lid dated 1902, engraved to the sides with a cavalier being served beer by a tavern wench, and 'Grstensaft und hopfen credenzt von schoner hand snd jedem weundertropefen im ganzen Deutschenland', impressed marks, 20cm high, together with a further stoneware half gallon stein, glass stein decorated with flowers and 'Erinerung an Oberamergau', and a Gien pottery tankard with moulded decoration and a reserve painted with a candle, painted mark, 12cm high.
